A story about his name.

As many of you know it took WEEKS to determine what we will call WCA III.  We tried several names out on Ellery.  I figured if she said a name and it sounded good then we would go with it.  I love how she says, "Cary" but when Sweetie & I called Little Mister "Cary" it just didn't seem right. 

One day Ellery was out with my parents and they were visiting a family friend.  Miss Patti asked Ellery, "What is your baby brother's name?"  and out she said "Baby Walt!"  What?!?  Like I said we tried several different names out on Ellery but I don't remember trying out "Walt." 

And there it stuck.  I figured I'll just go with it.  I mean it was close to 3 weeks he was with out a name. 

So baby Walt it is!!

He is sleeping about 6 hours and then gets up for a feeding and sleeps another 4 hours.  Usually I get up once a night.  He tolerates his sisters love and is so easy going, that is until about 6 PM.  Usually 6-9ish is a fussy time where only Mommy will do.  :) 

I love napping with him in the afternoons and breaking all of my parenting rules.  When I realized how fast this infant time goes by I loosened up a bit and just want to soak up every moment of his little life right now.

Comforting

I don't think anyone in our family feels 100%. 

Ellery has a full blown cold, but she still has 10x's more energy than I do any day.

Walt freaks out because his sinuses are acting up and he's coughing.

This means I have slept on the sofa with him the past 2 nights, so he's elevated and my mind is at ease.

Which also means I'm not getting much sleep.

Cary and I are both coming down with the cold.

Regardless of all of this, I'm in the kitchen after lunch cleaning up and both kids were chilling on the sofa.  Ellery was watching a movie curled up and about to go to sleep while Walt was sleeping in the boppie.  He started to cry and by the time I turned the corner to pick him up I see Ellery has decided to move herself around to comfort her little brother.  So sweet!

She can't keep her hands off of him!

Any time she wants to hold him, she can but he usually ends up crying.

Then she ends up comforting him. 

Sometimes it's good, sometimes it's not so good.

Little did we know that about the time these pictures were taken, Ellery was coming down with a cold which means that Little Mister was receiving a cold!  :)

Father's Day

I love my dad.

I am huge "Daddy's Girl."

I have seen or spoken to my Dad more days of my life than not. We've see each other almost every day for the past 15 years, maybe? Mostly because we worked together every day.

Dad and mom are leaving for a missions trip to Slovakia and I am going to miss him so much.

Our newest family picture!!

Cary and I went out to lunch this morning and for the first time in my life I felt like an adult.  It hit me that with the addition of Baby Walt we are really our own family. 

I kept repeating that over and over during lunch.  "Man, we are a real family!"  It's crazy when you come to a point in life that you KNOW your an adult.

One Rainy Afternoon

The other day Cary and Ellery were sitting outside reading books and just hanging out. I guess this was also a way to give me a little break from both kids.

Well, the sky opened up and it began to rain. But Little Miss did not want to come inside. So instead Daddy came up with a fun idea!

Little Mister slept through the entire adventure.
